Background

Piloted in 2001, the SIS/OIS Saturday School Program started with just 74 students and five teachers. Initially, a 3 hour afternoon program where children had English, computers and sports lessons, it soon became obvious that there was need for a full-day program of this type. The response from parents was overwhelming and we saw Saturday School increase to 281 the following year. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and now have a current roll of around 435 students. We have a teaching roll of nearly 60 instructors from around the world. There are also 90 bilingual student staff assisting instructors in the classroom.
